The practice

The practice was awarded the BIG SEE Interior Design Award 2026 and was designed on the principles of child-centred architecture, to offer a safe, calm and functional environment for children and parents. Every design decision was grounded both in the needs of childhood and in current scientific evidence:

  • The curved lines create a sense of harmony and familiarity.
  • Hypoallergenic, safe materials were chosen with children’s health and wellbeing in mind.
  • The interactive wall toys encourage creative play without small shared objects, which keeps hygiene standards high in the waiting area.
  • The deliberate absence of screens promotes imagination, interaction and free play.

For us, the space of a paediatric practice is part of the care itself. That is why it was designed to support not only the medical examination, but also the emotional experience of the child and their family.

The interactive wall toys

In the waiting area children play with the interactive wall toys, while purpose-built speaking tubes turn play into a small adventure of discovery. Waiting turns into creative play and exploration.

Hygiene & safety

Cleanliness is a core priority: the rooms are ventilated systematically and cleaning and disinfection routines run daily, for the greatest possible safety of our small visitors.

The doctor's office

The consultation office

The office is where the conversation with parents happens: history taking, explanation and planning of the follow-up, unhurried. The layout lets the child sit with you without feeling “under examination”.

The examination room

The examination room

The examination room is fully equipped for newborns, infants and children: examination couch, baby scale, stadiometer and pulse oximeter, in a bright setting that keeps the tension of the examination low.

The central space of the practice

The children’s space

Curved volumes, warm colours and a scale built for children: the space invites exploration and free play — no screens, and no small objects passing from hand to hand.
